"Vanity vs The Soul" - Mixed Media - Original
Oh, Vanity…
An enemy, but oh how we love you…
This multiple award winning piece tells the story no one will talk about.
In a culture where women are forced into the hunt of the highest praise from others, there is a story unfolding within us.
This story begins with the pursuit of vanity; that is, the disordered infatuation with how others view us. Vanity takes many forms, however it usually manifests itself in our appearance or reputation. Vanity takes over.
As our vanity grows, then dwindles our sights. Before we can even realize that we are tearing ourselves to shreds, we have already become blind to our own vanity.
At the end of it all, our vanity has destroyed us from the inside out.
And we never saw it coming…
Dimensions: 16” x 20” (40.64cm x 50.8cm) - Mixed Media - Canvas with wire
