Project: Peace
For the past few years, I have been trying to share my talent...
It takes many different forms, but I have recently discovered a love and passion for delivering art to the ones who need it most; those people who are on the brink.
Full Confession…
I have been giving away art to families that have bore a great tragedy. I find these families and I will cry and cry, cry some more...
Some cases it will be a child who was killed, other cases are usually the hardest cases that involve many tears…
My hope is to bring Peace back into these families. Most (if not all) of the time, they have never heard of me and I have only heard of them through news agencies. I reach out anonymously and find a valid address; usually through verification of someone who knows the family, directly.
I never choose the family, they are chosen for me.
In each drawing, I portray the child in a state of happiness, with beams of light shining from behind their precious heads; Hoping that the ones who are left with the child’s absence, can feel peace knowing their child’s innocence.
I will never reveal names; if I were to do that, I would be benefiting from someone’s suffering. I would definitely get more attention, but “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
The portraits are signed on the back with the year so the families know this is a real drawing; and their child deserved to be portrayed in that moment from God through my hands - like a vessel.
This is not for me, this is for them.
I have been doing all of this out-of-pocket, and I can’t keep up with rising costs all on my own.
I wish to be able to do this Full Time one day; however, at this time in my life, it isn’t possible. Maybe one day, start a nonprofit where I can hire more artists, and our only mission is to deliver Peace; in the form of an affirmation that their child is at Peace.
If you wish to donate to Project: Peace, any amount helps:
$1 can buy the paper I draw on…
$2 will get the tools I draw with…
$3 - $5 covers the packaging materials…
$5 - $8 can get these portraits framed…
$10 - $15 can get these portraits to their families…
Together, we can bring Peace back into the world, one child at a time…
If you know of any families who have experienced this heartache recently, please send me any news article that I may view through my “Message Me” button with a description “Project: Peace”
